The school works finally bid goodbye as the students jump in utmost joy to go to places they never had time to go to. As the last student hands in the last exam, a sigh of relief is breathed. The hours joggled to squeeze in the information for the exams can be finally remain as just a memory. The blanks in the clearance document are finally blotted with inks. The teachers are done with the grade reports and can now feel the start of summer breezing all over. The HS Seniors have now the diplomas and officially ended the whole of their high school – ready to take on the world undiscovered. Now, St. James Academy was left with the buildings and an unusual silence that encompasses it. The students are finally out of something that covered them for a whole year. They are finally, finally, soaking up the bright rays of the sun, the serenity of the beaches, the calm of the waves, the out of the usual run of things joy of doing nothing. Once again, I retire my summer-y thoughts and switch my head to the notion that I miss everything about school right now. The seniors who sauntered the hallways and possibly added much of wings to the school. The cafeteria where I perhaps, knocked down my ear drums from the people in it... The absurdity of the human thinking is clinching me. In a few months time, I’ll be all giddy choosing the black shoes that’ll go well with my well-altered uniform, the rush of picking the notebooks that will house the lessons I’ve got to learn through the year, and once again walking the school hallways with the thought that this will be the last year I’ll wear the uniform, the last year I’ll see the people around me everyday, the last year of what they say ‘the best stage of school’, the last year where the word “regular” is common (unlike college, where the irregularity of things take place) – and you just have to seize everything. Hello again, High School. I’ll miss you.
