While I was stumbling to go to sleep at about 1am last night, I figured that since it’s Saturday the next day, I could give myself the luxury of sleeping late. Me, my brother Richard and cousin Diego watched the DVD of Will and Grace earlier last night so I thought that I could watch the remaining episodes on my laptop this time. In the dark of the night and the tranquility of my brother’s sleep, I was searching for the cd but found out that Diego brought it home already. So I then browsed the dvd carrier and was fingered to the Mean Girls DVD since I haven’t watched it for about years now. Somehow right at this point, I want to know the insider on schools in other countries. I think I haven’t had enough.
So you think that La Lohan’s movie is just a sort of chick flick you wouldn’t mind watching ‘cause it’s just all about a bunch of girls who ruin other girl’s lives, don’t you? And you confess to hate mean girls forever ‘cause they do, at some point, make your life a trash and you thought that they do nothing good – ever. And you even tell yourself that you’re not gonna flourish into some mean girl ‘cause of that notion. You even swear to not jive with mean girls. I mean, I think all of us did that. We’ve all been pretty cautious of lurching with a mean girl, talking to her, and simply being with her would be a nightmare-ish contemplation. A thing we would be caught dead, in the first place. What with all the crazy rules of wearing skirts all the time, wearing sweatpants only a day/week, and not being in a relationship with your friend’s ex (although I swear, we all should be wary of this), and of course endless gossips and backstabbing rule their world.
MEAN GIRL. I think we’re all vulnerable to it, at least twice or even most of the time. Without knowing, we’ve ruined one’s life already, caused pain to someone, made someone feel so bad about his/herself, even made somebody’s day a bad one. Mean girls are everywhere, they stand as the epitome of hellish things which they thought was heaven to everyone.
Although you think you’re doing none of this – goodness, you’re wrong. With all the nasty things that revolve around, I doubt you weren’t tempted to be a mean girl even for a minute. We’ve all said mean things to everyone, made mean things to everyone, and caused everyone to do mean things too. It’s a cycle, I guess.
I admit, I’ve let off some things which isn’t good. We view Mean Girls who invisibly rule the whole school as the perfect example.
“There 2 kinds of evil people: people who do evil stuff, and people who see evil stuff and don’t stop it.” -Janis Ian, Mean Girls
I think being a Mean Girl has a good and bad effect. The good one would be: you can keep others on their toes with you, and be able to crash those bullies, and of course -- we get possibly everything we want -- WHEN WE WANT IT. And the negative one: you see yourself so high, and that you are the one who’s bullying already!
Come on. I think we better think twice and just be balanced with the two. We can never be too mean nor too good. We've all got our share of horns on our heads. Agree.
